Welcome to Mobly! This is a quick walkthrough of the basics of how to use the Mobly app to capture leads at your event. To get started, make sure you download the Mobly app from the app store of your choice. Open the app and put in your email address. If you haven’t set up a password yet, click on “Forgot Password” or “Send me a Magic Link” that will allow you to get signed in to Mobly. Otherwise you can sign in with your password.
Once you are signed in, you will see events that you have been added to. Pin the event that you are attending by clicking on the gray pin icon in the top right corner of the event, so that your lead scans will be attributed to the correct event. The event will turn orange when you’ve pinned it. Your admins will put in dates for events, and that will suggest for you to pin that event if you haven’t and you start scanning leads.
Click the orange button at the bottom of the screen to add a lead. When you do so, there are three ways to add a lead: you can add someone by clicking upload in the top right via a photo upload of their badge or business card, you can add someone by clicking on search in the top left and manually typing in their name and company in the top left if they don’t have a badge or business card, and via scanning, which is the way most leads are uploaded. When scanning, you want to capture the full badge, on the side of the badge that has their name and company on the badge. You don’t need to worry about getting the QR code if there is one. Mobly works off of the lead’s first name, last name, and company name to create the lead and enrich their info.
Click the circle button to take a photo of the badge. Make sure to keep the badge and camera still. Once you take a picture, it will save this person as a lead, even if you don’t add any additional info in the description field or via the tags. Once you have taken a photo, it will show the lead details screen with the first name of the person you just scanned to make it easy to find them later. You can also see the description and the tags where you can add context about this lead.
Enrichment automatically happens (usually in 10-15 minutes), if the lead shows “Mobly enriching” below the lead’s first name, the lead is going through our enrichment process. The lead will be enriched via Mobly’s data partners and that info will automatically be added to the lead and will be passed to your CRM or MAP if it is integrated once the enrichment process is complete. If someone gives you their email address or phone number and you want to make sure it gets saved to their profile, you can add it in manually by clicking on their name at the top and adding that info into the appropriate field then clicking save. If someone doesn’t give you this info, no worries, we will enrich the lead with this information and other helpful data.
Use the description and tags fields to capture important information about this lead (think context of what do you care about knowing about the people you meet, and what do you want to do with this lead after the event in terms of follow up).
Once you’ve updated that info, you can hit “Save & add next lead” to scan the next lead.
If you didn’t have time to update all the info on a lead before you have to scan the next lead, you can click the back arrow up in the top left corner, then on leads to the bottom right which will take you to your list of leads. Find the appropriate person and click on their name to update the description and tags fields after the conversation or later on in the day.
