More information on how data flow from Mobly -> Marketo: How data flows from Mobly to the CRM

There are three main steps to the process.

  1. Create an API user in Marketo to better track sourcing/edits
  2. Create a new integration service
  3. Pass the credentials over to Mobly

Creating your API user

  1. Go to the Admin area.

  2. Click Users & Roles.

  3. Click Invite New User.

  4. Enter an Email, First Name, and Last Name for the API only user. Click Next.

    Many companies choose to use:

    Email: mobly@[yourdomain.com]

    First Name: Mobly

    Last Name: Integration

  5. Select the API Only role and check the API Only checkbox. Click Next.

  6. Click Send.

Create a new Integration Service

  1. Go to the Admin area.

  2. Click LaunchPoint.

  3. Select New and then New Service

  4. Enter a Display Name for Mobly and select "Custom" for the Service type. Choose the API Only User previously created.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Click View Details for the custom LaunchPoint service created above.

  7. Copy the Client Id and Client Secret  for use in Mobly's Marketo integration.

8. Go to Integration > Web Services and copy the REST API Endpoint and Identity URLs.

CAUTION: Don’t share this information; it’s the backdoor to your data. Keep it safe! Once saved in Mobly it will be encrypted.

Passing Credentials to Mobly

1. Click "Integrations"

2. Click "Marketo"

3. Click "Connect"

4. Enter the connection details collected earlier

5. Click "Connect

6. Skip creating new fields, as you'll likely want to create them in your CRM first and link those fields to Marketo

7. You can now proceed with connecting Mobly fields to your Marketo fields. Click "Mapping"

8. "Persona" fields relate to the Lead

9. "Company" fields are for information about the company, and can sync to Leads and Companies

Field Mapping

Here are the lead object fields that Mobly can send over to Marketo.

Fields can be mapped directly within Mobly, and to aid in the planning phase of the project, you can make a copy of this spreadsheet and add in your own CRM fields and tag preferences.

Basic Lead Info

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Personal Email
  • Personal Address
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • X (Twitter)
  • Profile Picture
  • Job Title
  • Phone Number
  • Other Phone Numbers
    • If you wish to have additional phone numbers that enrichment finds, we recommend making a new field such as "mobly_other_phone_numbers". This will come in as a semicolon separated list.

Company Info

  • Company Name
  • Company Industry
  • Company LinkedIn
  • Company Street Address
    • Due to Salesforce's strong policy about street address format, we recommend mapping this to a new field without restrictions called something such as "mobly_company_address".
